Hi, there! I'm Rasha.
I'm a writer, radio-maker, and science journalist
I have the best job in the world: I get to call up incredible scientists, question how they do what they do, and then turn that into a story for more people to enjoy and learn from. It just doesn't get much better than that for a science nerd. I love stories that weave science, culture, and social justice together to challenge how we see — and exist — in the world.
I'm currently a producer for Science Friday, a weekly science radio show, that aims to make science more accessible, fun, and relevant for everyone. I previously worked for NPR's Short Wave and Spotify's Science Vs, where I learned how to be a radio reporter. Before realizing that radio is more fun than print, I wrote for outlets like Smithsonian magazine, Science magazine, Science News for Students, and The Guardian.
When I'm not planning for my next story, you can find me lost in a good park, practicing my birding skills, or trying (and failing) to leash train my cats, Mia and Remi.
